water mist fire suppression system

The extreme advantages of the environmentally friendly, water damage free extinguishing system without harmful physiological impacts have a bright future and Tûzõr Ltd. already now has considerable results in the field of development and implementation.
The water mist fire suppression system offers a new solution in fire safety, combining the positive features of gas-extinguishing and sprinkler systems. The advantages of applying the water mist fire protection system against the other extinguishing equipments include that the extinguishing operation takes place earlier, as the response to the fire is faster. The extinguishing efficiency is much higher, due to the locally more intensive water mist spray.

Through the use of the water mist fire suppression system the ozone destroying extinguishing gases are eliminated. When compared to the traditional sprinkler systems 70 to 90% less water is needed for extinguishing, and the efficiency is still higher.
The intermediate-pressure water mist fire protection system were developed by Tûzõr Ltd. in two directions, partly the water mist systems with closed, automatic spray nozzle and the total water mist fire suppression systems.

water MIst fire suppression with automatic nozzles

With the automatic nozzles water mist fire suppression systems rooms of lower fire hazard risk are protected, in general, server and electronic rooms, public places visited by the general public, banks, documentation stores and offices sensitive to water damage. A separate advantage is that the hazardous materials in the smoke are “washed out” from the air and the flue gases will not deteriorate the health of people, or materials, equipment and facilities. In the area exposed to fire hazard only, the water mist fire suppression will not produce a panic situation, the well-trained safety technology crew can manage the tense psychic status caused by the alarm sounds and the fire hazard in a more reassuring manner.

The advantages of the equipment contrasted with other water mist fire protection systems include the smaller volume of water consumption, as the extinguishing starts only in the space above the fire and not the entire volume of the room will be filled with water mist. Due to the points above, a smaller water load will occur, therefore, no water damage is to be expected. Spaces can be delineated for separation from the water mist fire suppression, e.g. in the environment of elements sensitive to water mist, this is the unique speciality of the water mist fire suppression system of Tûzõr Ltd.
THIS ADVANTAGE IS UNIQUE AMONG THE EXTINGUISHING EQUIPMENTS!

operation of the water MIST fire suppression system with automatic NOZZLEs

The operation of the intermediate-pressure water mist system is characterised by the mounting of automatic intermediate pressure (7-17 bar) water mist nozzles with split film, spraying water mist by each 5- 8 m 2 , over the area to be protected in case of a hall-type room.
In the general case, the water mist automatic nozzles start operation at 68 ° C and 93 ° C, respectively, naturally, also at other ranges in special cases. The raising thermal flow of the eventual fire opens the water mist automatic nozzles above the area at risk. The drops of the water mist flow started surround the nest of the fire with water mist dispersion in a bell shape and the water mist is transferred by the air flow feeding the combustion to the burning material. The cooling effect and evaporation of the water mist dispersion, furthermore, the separation of oxygen leads to the extinguishing of the fire.

Fire protection system

The water mist dispersion cools the burning object to below the temperature of inflammation by removing the heat necessary for its evaporation. The water vapour displaces air (oxygen) from the environment of the burning object, therefore, the fire is extinguished, and through the cooling of the burning material rekindling is inhibited. In the environment of the fire the cold, water mist containing air prevents the spreading of the fire, eliminating the heat load on the environment.

The area requirement of the equipment is smaller than that of other extinguishing equipment, so its cost of installation and implementation is lower. The more favourable costs are also the result of the less complicated system embodied by the water mist fire suppression system, it includes no complicated system elements. The system is characterised by the smaller cost of operation and maintenance, related to the other extinguishing system.

Fire protection plan

The total flooding watermist fire suppression system is the best of breed extinguishing technology of the liquid fires, however, it offers a very wide range of application with superb efficiency against any other type of fire (practically it extinguishes all the fires, with the exception of materials in violent reaction with water and explosives).

Due to its intensity, rapid operation and thermal effect without heat shock it can also replace the gas extinguishing equipment of the power plants with better parameters, however, it is also suitable for extinguishing fires of the plants with the highest fire hazard of chemical, pharmaceutical and oil industry plants in the category “Enhanced risk of fire and explosion” and “A” category.

the adVANTAGES OF THE intermediate-PRESSURE WATER mist fire suppression SYSTEM

  • Rapid response of fire, higher extinguishing impact
  • Lower water consumption
  • More cost efficient equipment, no complicated system elements
  • No water damage
  • Absolutely ecofriendly
  • No harmful physiological effect of the extinguishing material
  • The extinguishing by the water vapour starts in the truly risky areas, so no 100% humidity is produced in the entire room
  • It saves the equipment containing electronic units, which are sensitive to the high relative humidity climate in the room.

The Tûzõr Ltd. water mist fire suppression system operating with intermediate pressure is a more preferable alternative compared to the other systems extinguishing with water mist or gas, and in most of the cases it is also considerably preferred to sprinklers and foam extinguishing systems.
